CUSTOMER RESULTS - Turbocote Kikuyu Lawn (Doreen, VIC)

Date: 20-05-2021

Following our step-by-step guide when growing your new lawn ensures success! This is exactly what Grant from Doreen did with our Landscape Range Turbocote Kikuyu seed for his large lawn project.  Kikuyu is a popular lawn choice around Australia. It requires minimal care once it’s germinated and when established it tolerates heavy wear and tear.

Goodbye old lawn!

Grant prepared his soil by cutting up previous lawn, spread the soil evenly, and did an irrigation test run. Grant knows a well-prepared soil bed will result in a better lawn.

He was sure to remove weeds, rocks, stones, grass, or other debris. His before pics really show how much prep he did for the project.

We have lift off!

Grant reported that after 2-3 weeks the seed started to germinate. Here are three important steps NOT to skip when seeding down:

  • Fertilise before sowing
  • Spread seed evenly
  • Water. Water. Water.

IMPORTANT TIP ON WATERING | Don't let your seed dry out! during the germination period (anywhere between 7 and 21 days), keep your seed constantly moist.

This is Grant's lawn two months on regular trimming.

IMPORTANT TIP ON YOUR FIRST MOW | Cut the grass for the first time when it's around 4-5 cm high. Trim lightly and gradually lower the blades to an ideal cutting height of 25mm. Mow regularly trying not to remove more than a third of growth at any time.

Dog approves! Check out those stripes.

6 months from seed!

We're thrilled Grant has had such a great result with his lawn project.  He's put in a massive effort and reaped the rewards.
