On Special - Dichondra Repens Ground Cover - find out more!
If you're looking for a low maintenance lawn it's worth considering Dichondra.
A perennial ground cover that has a pretty round shaped leaf, Dichondra spreads in a creeping fashion across the ground and has a bright green colour and a carpet like appearance. It's great for areas where other grasses won't grow, is low maintenance with only minimal care required. No mowing!
It’s particularly suitable for cooler, hilly areas of Australia where traditional lawn seed is difficult to grow or maintain.
Best time to plant is when temperatures are in the early 20’s and not cooler than 10-12 degrees at a minimum.
Once it's established it doesn't require frequent watering. Like lawns it's best to water deeply rather than shallow, frequent watering.
Grass Type Characteristics:
- Establishment Rate: Medium Growth in Establishment. Takes roughly 10-14 days to establish in ideal conditions.
- Drought Tolerance: Moderate to Good
- Shade Tolerance: Excellent
- Heat Tolerance: Moderate
- Wear Tolerance: Average
