VICTORIA

Starting to see the signs of Spring here in Victoria.  While it’s usually a bit slower to warm up than further north, we will see soils warming up meaning we can sow seed and fertilise. We stock plenty of good quality blends suitable for Melbourne and surrounds. Wait till October to sow straight couch and kikuyu as hotter weather is required. Warm season grasses need very warm soil to take off.

SPORTS TURF:  Our Commercial Sports Blends are ideal for the renovation of any sporting surface.  These are cool season blends, perfect for Victoria.  

QUEENSLAND

In cooler, hillier regions of Queensland it's possible to sow cool season grasses.  Choose a warm season grass like a couch or kikuyu if you're north of Brisbane and have a mostly hot climate year round.  These grasses will cope with the consistently warm/hot weather and still look green.

NEW SOUTH WALES AND ACT

In the warmer northern areas of the state choose a warm season grass that can tolerate consistent hot temperatures. Couchgrasses and Kikuyu will be the ticket.  Further south you can use a cool season variety or a blend of the two.

SOUTH AUSTRALIA

Very similar to Victoria, a colder start to Spring, but it's on the way! Cool Season grasses are your go-to. Sort out those winter weeds with a good herbicide.  Keep water to your Cool Season grasses over summer to keep them lush.

IDEAL SEED FOR SPRING IN SOUTH AUSTRALIA

TASMANIA

In Tasmania it's all about the Cool Season grasses!  Choose a Cool Season lawn and avoid blends that include couchgrasses.  You can sow these as soon as there is warmth in the soil for germination. 

Shady Area?  Rapid Green Sun and Shade Blend is designed to withstand limited sunlight.  Perfect for under trees or where there is reduced sunlight.

WESTERN AUSTRALIA

Perth and Surrounds choose from Cool and Warm Season grasses to sow.  North of Perth Select From Warm Season varieties that will withstand the heat and conditions.

No Cool Season Grasses for this area!  Stick to warm season varieties... Kikuyu and Couchgrasses.
