The importance of watering your lawn seed correctly
It's important to water carefully after sowing new lawn seed:
- New grass seed needs special care. The extra effort will pay off in the long term.
- To grow a strong healthy plant with a strong root system, means the soil needs to be constantly moist.
- Once you've seeded the area frequent watering is required until the germination process begins.
- It is best to keep the top 2-5cm moist but not wet. If the soil gets too dry germination will decline.
- As grass germination continues keep up regular watering for a strong seed establishment.
- If the weather is hot or windy this means more water is required.
- The young seedlings must not dry out as they will die.
